If you’d like to live in a top drawer location without breaking the bank, consider Monarch Summit! This view-oriented community is at the top of the hill just minutes from the ocean and world-class resorts and golf courses. In fact, my parents live in Dana Point and often we will come up to this area to take a walk and enjoy the spectacular views.

It’s in one of those locations that doesn’t get a lot of traffic unless you live here, so even though it’s in crowded coastal Orange County, it doesn’t feel like it. The community is small and intimate. Technically it’s called Monarch Summit 2 to distinguish it from the all-age community of Monarch Summit nearby.

Monarch Summit has 190 attached homes. Sizes of the homes range from 1400 to 1700 square feet and prices vary depending on location and condition. Here you see a typical street of homes.

These homes were built in the late 1970s and 1980s. They have 2 bedrooms, 2 baths, and 2 car garages.

Here’s the clubhouse that serves as the community hub for meetings and activities. Small communities like Monarch Summit 2 don’t have the range of clubs and activities that the larger 55+ communities do, but you can expect there will be card games and events centered around food to bring people together.

The pool and spa are walking-close and it’s a beautiful spot to relax and enjoy the almost perfect weather. Life is good!

This is the view from the community looking inland. Seriously, you really are at the top of the world in Monarch Summit 2!
